The Dog Ate My Shoe!!

My darling little dog has been chewing on everything lately and I mistakenly left a pair of my favorite shoes downstairs with him.  Here is the damage:

So I got a little creative:

I found the flannel in the remnants at my local fabric store.  I simply glued it over the torn part of the shoe and now I have my favorite shoes back!!  You can bet I won't leave them out for the little guy to feast on again.  Here's a picture of the culprit, Tucker (how can you be angry at something so cute!)

And here is what I came up with:

I stamped the map like design on the Ruby cardstock and distressed all of the elements with Cocoa ink to dull down the brightness a bit.  I used Liquid Glass to emphasize the anchor.  I love the way it turned out!

Simple Birthday

Sorry that I have not been posting too much lately.  I have been in a funk...it usually happens this time of year, but I am making an attempt to break out of it.  This card was inspired by two challenges.  The Color My Heart challenge this week was to use the colors Smoothie and Topiary.

The other challenge I used for inspiration was Sunday Stamps.  Here is their sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in Bamboo to create a muted background for the card.  I also used the Chocolate color to distress the background.

Vintage Dragonfly

Here is another card inspired by the challenge at deconstructing jen.  Here is the sketch:

Deconstructed Sketch No. 106

And here is what I came up with:

At first I wasn't too sure about this card...but I am actually loving it!  I stamped the woodgrain pattern on the Whisper cardstock to make it feel like worn barn wood.  I also distressed the Colonial White to give it a more vintage feel.  I am really proud of myself for pushing the colors (I usually wouldn't mix such colors).  The doily shape was cut using my Cricut®.
