The Dog Ate My Shoe!!

My darling little dog has been chewing on everything lately and I mistakenly left a pair of my favorite shoes downstairs with him.  Here is the damage:

So I got a little creative:

I found the flannel in the remnants at my local fabric store.  I simply glued it over the torn part of the shoe and now I have my favorite shoes back!!  You can bet I won't leave them out for the little guy to feast on again.  Here's a picture of the culprit, Tucker (how can you be angry at something so cute!)

Simple Birthday

Sorry that I have not been posting too much lately.  I have been in a funk...it usually happens this time of year, but I am making an attempt to break out of it.  This card was inspired by two challenges.  The Color My Heart challenge this week was to use the colors Smoothie and Topiary.

The other challenge I used for inspiration was Sunday Stamps.  Here is their sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in Bamboo to create a muted background for the card.  I also used the Chocolate color to distress the background.

Here is another card inspired by the challenge at deconstructing jen.  Here is the sketch:

Deconstructed Sketch No. 106

And here is what I came up with:

At first I wasn't too sure about this card...but I am actually loving it!  I stamped the woodgrain pattern on the Whisper cardstock to make it feel like worn barn wood.  I also distressed the Colonial White to give it a more vintage feel.  I am really proud of myself for pushing the colors (I usually wouldn't mix such colors).  The doily shape was cut using my Cricut®.

A Little Birdie

Hey ya'll!  I am back.  The week with my sister was amazing  (we ate some of the most amazing food...I swear I am 12 pounds heavier!!)  and then I spent time with my husband's family in the Uinta Mountains.  We had a blast dutch oven cooking, fishing, playing horseshoes, and listening to great stories around the fire.

This card comes from the challenge over at My Creative Time.  Here is the inspiration:

And here is what I came up with:

I apologize for the quality of pictures...I am so not sure what happened!  So I took a literal approach to the sketch but I still love it.  I have had the "A Tree" Stamp Set forever and haven't used it yet...but now I love it!  It's hard to see in the picture but I stamped the Honey Cardstock with a simple checker design to give it a little texture.

Tropical Sunset Hello

Here is my last card for a bit.  I am headed to Vegas for a week to visit my sister...and I am fully planning on fun and relaxation.

I combined two challenges for this card.  The first challenge is from Heart To Heart.  The challenge If You like Pina Coladas - Let's Go Tropical!  The next challenge is from Reverse Confetti.  Here is their sketch:

And for the Tropical challenge I used this photo that I took on my honeymoon to Jamaica:

This was a great view to see every night for a week!  I miss it!!

Here is what I came up with:

I hand cut the palm tree silhouette and stamped the background on the small elements.  I also took the round sponge with the Whisper Ink and toned down the bright colors of the cardstock.

Masculine Congratulations

This card came from the challenge over at retro sketches.  Here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

I chose to turn the design on its side.  I hand cut the chevrons so that it looked quirky.  I distressed the edges of each chevron so that part of the white core shows.  I also took the sponge and Outdoor Denim ink and distressed all the components of the card.  I gotta say that I really love this card!

Supplies:

Simple Wedding

This card comes from the challenge over at Papercraft Star.  The challenge was to be inspired by the following picture:

They suggested ideas like: Wedding, White, Pearls, Lace, or Harlequin Shapes.  Here is what I came up with :

I cut the dove design in the Cricut Craftroom (Love the free images that they provide!)  and lightly stamped the background for an antique lace kind of feel.

Supplies:
White Daisy Cardstock
